THE CENTRE FOR TRANSFORMATION

Frequently Asked Questions

Curious about spirituality, consciousness, inner transformation, Zalah's teachings, or where to begin your journey? Find answers to some of the most common questions about CFT, our programs and our approach to personal growth.

You don't have to have everything figured out. Whether you're completely new to spirituality or have been exploring consciousness for years, there is always another layer of understanding to discover. Explore the questions below and take the next step when you feel ready.

About The Centre for Transformation

What we are, who we are for, and how to take a first step.

The Centre for Transformation is a space dedicated to spiritual growth, consciousness, self-discovery and inner transformation. CFT offers teachings, courses, live wisdom classes and an online community designed to help people explore greater clarity, peace, purpose and personal awareness.

The Centre is based in Calgary, Alberta, and almost everything is delivered online so you can take part from home.

CFT is for anyone who feels drawn toward deeper self-understanding, spirituality, consciousness or personal transformation. You do not need to consider yourself "spiritual" to begin.

Some people arrive because they feel lost, overwhelmed or disconnected. Others simply want to understand themselves and life at a deeper level.

No. CFT's teachings are non-religious and non-denominational. They are centered around exploration, consciousness, self-discovery and spiritual understanding. You do not need to belong to a particular religion or adopt a particular religious identity.

Students arrive from many faiths and from none, and they stay in the tradition they came from if they want to. You are encouraged to explore the teachings for yourself and discover what resonates with your own experience.

No. People come to CFT for many different reasons.

Some are navigating difficult life experiences, while others are simply curious about consciousness, spirituality, relationships, purpose, personal growth or the deeper dimensions of life.

Three things. First, the teaching is live and interactive, so you can ask your own question rather than watch a recording of someone answering somebody else's.

Second, you are not handed a script for your life. As Zalah puts it, he offers philosophy, and it is not your truth until you have lived it.

Third, many students stay for ten, twenty, even twenty-five years and report that they are still learning. That says more about the depth of the material than any claim we could make for it.

CFT is based at Suite 193-16 Midlake Blvd. SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2X 2X7.

You do not need to be in Calgary. Classes and courses run online, and the community includes people joining from well outside Canada.

Greater self-awareness can influence how we communicate, respond and relate to others.

CFT explores consciousness and personal responsibility, which may provide useful perspectives for understanding relationship patterns and creating more intentional ways of relating.

That's completely okay. You don't need to have your entire journey figured out before taking the first step.

You can begin with a free Wisdom Class, explore the available courses, or contact CFT at info@thecft.ca and ask for guidance.

The simplest way is to begin by exploring the CFT website and attending a free Wisdom Class.

You can also explore the available courses or join the CFT online community.

About Zalah

The person leading the teaching, and how he works.

Zalah is the founder and head facilitator of The Centre for Transformation. He is an entrepreneur, TED Talk speaker and teacher who has spent more than two decades guiding people on paths of self-discovery and inner transformation.

His teachings explore consciousness, spirituality, personal growth, inner peace, purpose and the relationship between our inner world and the way we experience life.

Zalah has been guiding students on the path of self-discovery and inner transformation for more than two decades. Over the years, his teachings have reached students both online and through in-person learning environments.

Some students have studied with him for more than twenty-five years, and several now teach and coach in their own right.

Yes. His TED Talk is linked from the CFT website, and you can find it alongside a growing library of short teachings and full-length talks on our YouTube channel.

Zalah's approach encourages people to explore teachings rather than simply accept ideas because someone else says they are true.

A central philosophy of CFT is that teachings become personally meaningful through lived experience, self-observation and conscious exploration. In Zalah's own words: "I provide you with philosophy. It is not your truth until you have lived it."

Direct, but unfailingly kind. Students describe the classes as delivered with patience, steadiness and unconditional love.

One thing that surprises people is that the same class lands differently for every person in the room. After each live session, participants share what they are taking away, and the answers often differ, because each person hears what they most need to hear at that moment.

Yes. You can book a complimentary thirty-minute one-to-one session to talk through where you are and what you are looking for.

Private sessions are also available to students working through the deeper programs. Email info@thecft.ca to arrange either.

Spirituality, Consciousness & Practice

The ideas behind the teachings, and what the work asks of you day to day.

At CFT, spirituality is explored as a journey of understanding yourself, consciousness, your inner world and your relationship with something greater than the individual ego.

It is not simply about beliefs. It is about exploring how you live, think, respond, connect and experience life.

Consciousness can be explored as our awareness of ourselves, our thoughts, emotions, perceptions and experiences.

CFT teachings invite students to become more aware of the patterns that influence their lives and to explore what becomes possible when awareness increases.

In plain terms, it means widening the gap between what happens to you and how you respond.

Instead of running on inherited reflexes, old wounds and other people's expectations, you begin to notice them as they arise and choose differently. That gap is where clarity, peace and genuine choice live.

It is the term used at CFT for the rapid shift in global consciousness that many people are sensing right now.

It often shows up as restlessness, a sense that old ways of living no longer fit, and a pull toward something deeper. A large part of the work is learning to navigate that shift with steadiness rather than being pulled around by it.

Not necessarily. For many people, awakening is an ongoing process rather than a single dramatic event.

It may involve gradually becoming more aware of your thoughts, beliefs, patterns, relationships and the way you experience yourself and the world around you.

Inner transformation refers to changes in the way you understand yourself, your beliefs, your emotional patterns, your choices and your relationship with life.

Rather than focusing only on changing external circumstances, CFT encourages people to explore what is happening within.

Personal transformation often begins with awareness. When you become more conscious of your beliefs, reactions, patterns and choices, you can begin to question whether they still serve the life you want to live.

Spirituality can provide another dimension to that process by inviting deeper questions about identity, purpose, connection and meaning.

Spiritual exploration can help some people reflect on questions of meaning, purpose, identity, values and connection.

CFT provides teachings and practices intended to support that exploration. Your personal experience and interpretation remain an important part of the journey.

Manifestation is commonly discussed as the process of intentionally directing attention, beliefs, thoughts and actions toward desired outcomes.

At CFT, manifestation is explored within a broader conversation around consciousness, personal responsibility, inner alignment and spiritual growth. It should not be understood as a guarantee that thoughts alone can control external events.

No. CFT encourages personal exploration.

The goal is not simply to collect beliefs, but to examine ideas, reflect on them and discover what becomes meaningful through your own experience.

No. Practice is part of the path, but it is not a rule you can fail at.

Some students meditate daily. Others work primarily through study, self-inquiry and how they move through ordinary situations. All of it counts.

No. Nothing of that kind is asked of you.

Any changes you make should come from your own realisation rather than from a rule someone handed you. That is the whole point.

Very little to begin with. The free Wisdom Class is one session a week, and the Consciousness Accelerator asks for about twelve minutes a day.

What matters more than volume is consistency. A steady twelve minutes will usually take you further than an occasional heroic weekend.

Some people feel a shift after a single class. For others it is gradual, and they only notice looking back months later at how differently they handled something.

We will not promise you a timeline. What we will say is that some of our longest-standing students, twenty-five years in, are still finding new depth in the material.

Yes, and most of our students are doing exactly that.

The programs are built around short daily sessions and evening classes for that reason. This is meant to fit inside a real life, not require you to step out of one.

Mental & Emotional Wellbeing

Honest answers about what this work can and cannot do.

If you are in crisis, please do not wait for a class.

In Canada and the United States, call or text 9-8-8 at any hour of any day to reach the Suicide Crisis Helpline. Outside those countries, please contact your local crisis line. If you are in immediate danger, call emergency services.

Please reach out to someone who can help you immediately rather than waiting for a class.

In Canada and the United States you can call or text 9-8-8 at any hour of any day to reach the Suicide Crisis Helpline. If you are elsewhere, contact your local crisis line. If you are in immediate danger, call emergency services.

You matter, and there are people whose whole job is to be there for exactly this.

CFT explores spirituality, consciousness, self-awareness and personal transformation, which may provide additional perspectives for someone navigating a difficult period in life.

However, CFT is not a medical or psychiatric treatment for depression. If you are experiencing depression, especially symptoms that are severe, persistent or affecting your safety, please seek support from a qualified mental-health professional or healthcare provider.

No. Spiritual education and personal-growth practices should not be presented as a replacement for professional medical or mental-health care.

Some people choose to explore spirituality alongside therapy, counselling or other professional support. Always speak with your qualified healthcare provider about treatment decisions, and please do not stop or change any prescribed treatment because of something you heard in a class.

Yes, and many of our students are.

We would simply ask that you let your healthcare provider know what you are doing, the same as you would with anything else you have added to your life.

Feeling lost can be an invitation to pause and explore what is happening beneath the surface of everyday life.

CFT teachings can provide tools for self-reflection, awareness and exploring your relationship with your thoughts, beliefs and life experiences.

This is one of the most common things people bring to us. Nothing is visibly wrong, and yet something is missing.

Students often describe realising they had been living largely in social consciousness, high in ego and image, arriving at the same place year after year. The work begins by asking a different question: not how do I fix my life, but how am I actually living it, and what would living with purpose look like.

Many people experience repetitive thinking or difficulty quieting the mind. CFT encourages greater awareness of how thoughts influence our experience rather than automatically identifying with every thought.

The goal is not necessarily to eliminate thoughts, but to develop a different relationship with awareness, thought and choice.

CFT explores practices and perspectives that may help people develop greater self-awareness, reflection and inner balance.

Results vary from person to person, and these teachings are not a substitute for professional care when stress or emotional distress becomes difficult to manage.

Yes, in an important way. This is not a silent-sitting program you either succeed or fail at.

It is teaching, discussion and inquiry, with practice as one element rather than the whole thing. If your mind is loud, you are not disqualified. That is quite often the starting point.

Sometimes, and we would rather say so than let it take you by surprise. Looking honestly at old patterns can be uncomfortable, and it can surface things that were easier to keep out of view.

Go at your own pace, use the Q and A, and bring in professional support if the ground gets unsteady. There is no prize for pushing through alone.

Yes. You can raise it in the live Q and A, email us at info@thecft.ca, or book a private session. You will not be left alone with it.

For clinical concerns we will always encourage you toward a qualified professional as well.

Courses & Programs

What is offered, where to start, and how access works.

CFT currently offers several learning experiences, including the Consciousness Accelerator Series, Spiritual Awakening programs, the Complete Awakening & Consciousness Transformation Program, and the Mind & Life Transformation Collection.

Course availability and program details may change over time. Visit the CFT Courses page for the latest information.

The Consciousness Accelerator Series is a structured introductory journey designed around short daily sessions. It is currently described as a 10-day journey with approximately 12 minutes of daily learning.

Days one to three lay the foundations, days four to seven cover practical tools for inner growth, and days eight to ten move into presence, forgiveness, self-inquiry and deeper connection. It is the most popular starting point, largely because twelve minutes is a commitment almost anyone can keep.

Spiritual Awakening 1 and Spiritual Awakening 2 are deeper learning experiences for people who want to explore spiritual principles and consciousness in greater depth.

Spiritual Awakening 1 establishes the core framework and foundational practices. Spiritual Awakening 2 builds on that with more advanced material and deeper experiential work. Many students repeat both more than once and report hearing the teachings at a different level each time.

Not necessarily. CFT provides learning experiences ranging from introductory concepts to more advanced spiritual exploration.

If you are unsure where to begin, start with the introductory resources or contact CFT for guidance on choosing an appropriate learning experience.

A common path is to start with a free Wisdom Class, then the Consciousness Accelerator, then Spiritual Awakening 1 and 2 in sequence.

That said, if you are unsure where you fit, book a complimentary thirty-minute session and we will point you to the right starting place rather than guess.

Yes. CFT provides online learning experiences so students can participate from the privacy and comfort of their own homes.

Course access and delivery details depend on the specific program.

Course material is delivered through the CFT online learning platform. After you enrol you will receive sign-in details by email, and from then on everything is available in one place from any device.
